27th Meeting of "Coaching meets AI"

The 27th meeting of the "Coaching Meets AI" dialogue round focused on the practical application of the theoretical foundations discussed in the previous session. The main objective was to test a coaching script (Script B) using a fictional case study. The case revolved around a leader experiencing uncertainty and overwhelm in the process of transitioning their team to an agile framework. The work progressed in the following steps:

  1. Case Creation and Situation Description:

    • The leader works in a software development company.
    • The agile transformation has introduced a new leadership role, triggering uncertainty and overwhelm, as the team is hesitant to take on responsibility.
    • Key issues such as stress, a need for control, and over-responsibility were identified.
  2. Image Work with AI:

    • A key image (a lonely and depressed Superman) was selected to visualize the emotional state.
    • Participants described their perceptions of the image and identified immersive elements that enhanced emotional depth and reflection.
  3. Analysis of the Vicious Cycle:

    • Core problems included excessive responsibility-taking, controlling behavior, and uncertainties.
    • The AI enriched the analysis by linking emotional experiences to specific behavioral patterns.
  4. Solution Orientation:

    • The AI suggested mindful responsibility-taking and outcome-oriented process responsibility.
    • A critical point raised was the need to give greater consideration to the systemic context (agile transformation and micro-political dynamics).
  5. Feedback on the Method:

    • The image work using cloze text formats was perceived as a helpful framework.
    • The AI analysis was regarded as impressive but occasionally idealistic (too focused on "fair-weather solutions").
